We cordially invite you to the 5th International Conference on Nanogenerators and Piezotronics (NGPT 2020), which will take place from July 5 – 9, 2020 in Cambridge, UK. Since the inaugural meeting in Xianshang, China in 2012, the International Conference on Nanogenerators and Piezotronics has been held in locations around the world, including Atlanta (2014), Rome (2016) and Seoul (2018). We are delighted to announce that Cambridge, UK joins this list by hosting the 5th NGPT conference.
Cambridge is a historic city situated on the River Cam in eastern England, home to the world-famous University of Cambridge, which was founded in 1209, including its many famous colleges and buildings. The city offers visitors a unique experience with its iconic buildings, museums, parks and impressive range of activities. It also lies at the heart of the high-technology Silicon Fen with established industries in software and biotechnology, as well as many start-up companies born out of the University. The UK hosts a rich and diverse scientific community centred around energy research, with plenty of scope for international collaborative activities and industrial engagement. Strong commitment to energy research is evident through world-class facilities and centres of excellence aimed at bringing together academics and external partners to work on future energy challenges.
NGPT2020 aims to provide an international platform to researchers from all over the world working in the area of nanogenerators and piezotronics, to share and discuss significant advances and developments in this rapidly growing and technologically relevant field. The conference will also serve as a strong networking platform to build and foster collaborative research, and to enhance interactions with both academia and industry. We are keen to encourage enhanced student and early career discourse and will organise a number of special events including: Business Start-up and Angel Investor Forums. A focus on “Powering the IoT using NGPT” special symposia will also be held to bring researchers closer to the needs of the designer IoT community. We are honoured to have the pioneer of the field, Prof. Zhong Lin Wang, give the opening Plenary at the place where electromagnetism was fully defined.
Based on the incredible growth and successes of past NGPT conferences, we eagerly await the exciting developments that will arise from the upcoming conference. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Cambridge, UK in July 2020.
